About ZaBonne

ZaBonne is a boutique travel concierge designing bespoke journeys across Kyushu, one of Japan’s hidden treasures. Our focus is not only on famous destinations, but on the quieter places, deeper stories, and authentic encounters that reveal the true character of the region.

The idea behind ZaBonne was shaped by a personal travel experience. While traveling in France, I once followed the life of Joan of Arc from the place where she first fought to the city where she died. One of the most meaningful places on that journey was a small museum rarely mentioned in guidebooks. That experience taught me something important: The most meaningful travel experiences are often found beyond the most visible information.

Guidebooks, websites, and even AI often highlight the same well-known locations. Yet the most memorable journeys are created through local knowledge, thoughtful planning, and unexpected discoveries. ZaBonne was created to offer that kind of journey.

ZaBonne was founded by Makie with the vision of introducing international travelers to Kyushu's unique character. Working closely with local partners and regional experts, she designs journeys that allow travelers to experience Kyushu through its landscapes, culture, and cuisine. Her approach focuses on creating thoughtful, well-curated itineraries that connect visitors with places and experiences often overlooked on typical travel routes. Through ZaBonne, she hopes to share the spirit of Japanese hospitality and create meaningful journeys for travelers exploring Kyushu.
